NFL Probabilities – Week 7 Goes to the Longshots Yet again

Week 7 in Football lines went to the long shots again. The major favorites didn’t do well and the Saints were the biggest letdown as they lost straight up at home to the Cleveland Browns. But the New orleans saints were not the only major fave to fail vs the Football wagering lines in Week 7.



The New orleans saints were laying 12 points to Cleveland at the online sports book while the Baltimore Ravens were laying 12 points at home to the Bills. The Ravens did not cover either but at a minimum they did win the game in ot. The Browns and Bills aren’t famous team with bettors but they both came through in Week 7 as major long shots.

Yet another Huge Dog – Oakland Oakland – The Raiders were getting a touchdown at Denver and they crushed the Denver Broncos by a score of 59-14. The Oakland were also not a famous pick this week but they entirely controlled the Denver Broncos from start to finish and it was on the road in Denver. There is really no way to overstate how weak the Denver Broncos were. Kyle Orton was kept down to a season minimal 198 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception. Head coach Josh McDaniels found himself apologizing to practically everyone for the performance. Some individuals are calling it the worst performance in team history.

Small Underdogs – It was not only the major long shots that covered in Week 7 either. Quite a few other competitions were tight with the long shots coming through. The New england patriots were getting points at San Diego and they won straight up. The Carolina Panthers were a one point longshot vs San Francisco and they won straight up 23-20. The Miami Dolphins and St Louis Rams didn’t win their competitions straight up but both came through for bettors. The Dolphins lost by only one a home to Pittsburgh getting 3 points in Football wagering lines while St. Louis lost by only one at Tampa Bay getting a field goal. Washington was getting 3 points at Chicago and they were able to win the game straight up in an unsightly turnover mess 17-14.

A Couple of Favorites Cover – There have been a couple of favorites that did come through in Week 7. Kansas City struggled early with Jacksonville but pulled away in the 2nd half to win 42-20. The Falcons scored more than the Bengals by a score of 39-32. Tennessee blew away the Philadelphia Eagles as three-point home favorites and Seattle was able to hold off Arizona and get the 12 point win as a touchdown fave in Football lines.
